The PARA method is a simple framework for structured, engaging conversations. It keeps you focused and invites the other person to participate.

The four steps

Step Description
Point Clearly state your main idea or the point you want to make.
Action Explain what action you took based on that point or situation.
Result Describe the outcome or impact of that action.
Ask Pose a question to encourage the other person to share their perspective.

Example

Point: “I’ve been realizing how important rest is for productivity.”

Action: “So, I started taking my weekends completely off to recharge.”

Result: “My work quality has improved significantly, and I have more energy during the week.”

Ask: “How do you manage your own rest and productivity?”
